Mining royalties rose 9% to 2.4 billion NAD ($137 million), while export duties jumped 90% to 685 million NAD ($38 million). President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said the mining industry plans to mobilize $2.8 billion in new investment and create more than 18,000 direct jobs through the Namibia Public-Private Forum. The mining sector contributed 14% of Namibia’s GDP and generated 7.8 billion Namibian dollars ($434 million) in tax revenue in 2025, up from 5.6 billion NAD ($313 million) in 2024, according to government data released on Aug. 5, 2026. The increase represents a 39% rise in one year.
