Former Andhra Pradesh Minister and ex-MLA of Kovur constituency Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy has accused the Buchireddypalem Circle Inspector V. Durga Prasad, of having indulged in large scale corruption and garnering assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The complaint, coming ahead of the local body elections, has created a stir in the SPSR Nellore district politics.

In a complaint sent to the Director-General of Police (Andhra Pradesh), the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Vigilance & Enforcement department, he appealed to the government to take note of the officer’s financial assets acquired after taking over the powerful seats.

Mr. Reddy also referred to his earlier tenure as Circle Inspector of Chimakurthy, a post considered a key position, claiming that he had substantial money while serving there. He had been suspended for allegedly collecting money from suspects in a theft case.
