Nairobi, Mogadishu move to extend Isiolo

Kenya and Somalia are moving to operationalise the extension of the Isiolo-Mandera road corridor into Somalia, potentially opening a new trade, digital and security artery across the Horn of Africa.
The development emerged following a meeting between Somali Ambassador Jabril Abdulle and Roads PS Joseph Mbugua.
After the discussions, the two sides agreed to establish a Joint Technical Committee to advance discussions on extending the World Bank-funded Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project into Somalia.
Amb Jabril welcomed Somalia's inclusion in the landmark regional initiative, which he said will enhance connectivity between Somalia and Kenya.
