Why it matters
This reflects an effort to improve administrative transparency and combat the influence of misinformation in state governance.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials not to neglect public grievances and stressed the need for accountability and speedy resolution of complaints received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS).
During a review of various departments through the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister enquired about the delivery of government services at the field level.
Observing that the PGRS mechanism had helped resolve public grievances to a considerable extent, Mr. Naidu directed Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad to convene a meeting with District Collectors to improve the system’s efficiency and ensure quicker resolution of complaints.
He said the meeting should focus on fixing accountability among officials and employees in addressing complaints received by nodal officers in all 175 Assembly constituencies. He stressed that complaints should not merely be received but followed up until they were resolved.
