Nagercoil Corporation steps up beautification drive with murals, planting of saplings
The Nagercoil Corporation has launched a beautification drive featuring murals and the planting of rosy trumpet trees across the city. This initiative aims to prevent illegal wall posters while improving the city's green cover and visual appeal.

To prevent wallposters being pasted on public spaces and to enhance the visual appeal of the city, the Nagercoil Corporation has initiated a drive to adorn the walls in public spaces, traffic islands and centre medians with colourful murals. The initiative is being carried out with the support of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
Along with adding vibrancy to the city through the murals, the Corporation has also taken up plantation of rosy trumpet saplings along major stretches and in school grounds to increase the city’s green cover.
Mural art can currently be seen at places including Vetturnimadam and Vadasery, with the plans to extend the initiative to other parts of the city.
