Nacharam Pedda Cheruvu to be developed
The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has launched a restoration project for the Nacharam Pedda Cheruvu lake. The initiative aims to improve water levels, mitigate flooding, and create recreational spaces for the community.

The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency has commenced restoration and development works at Pedda Cheruvu of Nacharam. HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Thursday (July 16) inaugurated the project for the 108.30-acre lake, which is being taken up at an estimated cost of ₹28 crore.
The project includes construction of a strengthened bund, a walkway, seating areas, parks, children’s play zones, open gyms and yoga platforms to create a recreational space for residents of all age groups. Addressing reporters, the Commissioner said desilting of the lake to a depth of 10 feet is under way and the entire project is expected to be completed within nine months.
