Mysuru Warriors have named Karnataka batter Shubha Satheesh as captain of their women’s team for the second edition of the Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 tournament.
Owned by the NR Group, the franchise unveiled the squad on Monday (July 20) ahead of the tournament, which will be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from July 22 to August 2. Four franchises — Bengaluru, Hubballi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru — will compete in this year’s edition.
After an impressive campaign in the inaugural season, Mysuru Warriors will enter the tournament under the guidance of former India cricketer Karuna Jain, who continues as head coach. The franchise has also retained its partnership with the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Keragalli near Mysuru as part of its efforts to encourage greater participation of girls in cricket.
