Mysuru to get international-standard film city: Yathindra

Describing the proposed international-standard film city as an ambitious project with the potential to strengthen Mysuru’s position as a major destination for the film and entertainment industry, Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Tuesday stressed the need for its timely and quality implementation.

The Minister reviewed the progress of the proposed film city, to be developed in Mysuru under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, at a meeting with senior officials at Vikas Soudha in Bengaluru.

The project is envisaged as a major film and entertainment hub, with state-of-the-art studios, technical infrastructure, post-production facilities and other facilities required by the film industry, officials said.

The Minister discussed measures to ensure timely implementation of the project, which is also aimed at giving a fresh impetus to Mysuru’s cultural, tourism and economic development.
