Mysuru Gram Panchayat employees protest, seek immediate implementation of minimum wages

Seeking immediate implementation of the minimum wage announced by the State government on May 22, 2026, and filling of vacant posts in gram panchayats, a large number of gram panchayat employees staged a protest in front of the Mysuru Zilla Panchayat office here on Tuesday (August 18).
The protest was organised by the Karnataka State Gram Panchayat Employees’ Association (affiliated to CITU), Mysuru district committee. The protesters submitted a memorandum highlighting their long-pending demands and urged the government to take immediate action.
The protesters demanded that bill collectors and computer operators be promoted to the posts of accounts assistants and Panchayat Secretary Grade-II.
