Trees must not be damaged or nails driven into them while installing the lights for Dasara illumination, CESC Chairman and MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda directed officials on Wednesday, stressing that tree protection and safety should be given top priority.
Reviewing the preparations for the Dasara illumination at the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) office here, Mr. Bandisiddegowda directed officials to ensure that the lighting arrangements were carried out without causing any damage to trees.
He said the illumination should have a new and attractive design and concept this year, adding that preparations should be completed in a short period.
“The responsibility on us is greater this year. We must complete the preparations in a short time and come up with a new design and concept that has not been seen in the last three years,” he said.
