Mysuru: Centre hikes disaster relief for FCV tobacco growers to ₹75,000

Acting on representations made by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the Tobacco Board has raised the grant and interest-free loan assistance from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000. Financial assistance under other categories has also been enhanced in accordance with revised guidelines, according to a statement from the MP’s office.
Mr. Wadiyar had urged the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Tobacco Board to increase financial assistance for growers who suffered crop losses due to natural calamities. The revised package is intended to provide timely financial relief and help farmers restore their livelihoods.
