Chelsea FC is considering a loan move for winger Mykhailo Mudryk to their sister club Strasbourg following his return from a long-term anti-doping suspension. The club aims to help him regain fitness and confidence away from the pressure of the Premier League.
Why it matters
This move reflects the strategic management of high-value assets within multi-club ownership models in professional football.
Chelsea are strongly considering sending Mykhailo Mudryk on loan to sister club Strasbourg as he returns from a long anti-doping suspension. The Blues want the Ukrainian winger to rebuild his fitness and confidence in France rather than immediately throwing him into Xabi Alonso's starting plans.
Chelsea are currently exploring the possibility of sending Mudryk to Strasbourg on a short-term loan. The Ukrainian winger is finally returning to first-team football after his anti-doping suspension was officially lifted. He has not played a competitive match since initially testing positive for meldonium. A devastating four-year ban was later imposed, but the complex case was successfully resolved following a lengthy appeal.
Putting him straight back into the fiercely competitive Premier League is viewed as a major risk by the club. Chelsea urgently need to restore his match fitness, confidence, and market value without exposing him to intense domestic pressure.
