India’s mutual fund industry reached an all-time high of Rs 87.08 lakh crore in August 2026, adding more than Rs 11.9 lakh crore to its assets over the past year. Industry AUM rose 15.8 per cent year-on-year from Rs 75.19 lakh crore in August 2025. The industry has recorded a 19 per cent CAGR in both the last five and 10 years, according to the Mutual Fund Industry Dashboard for August 2026.According to Frankling Templeton's latest report, equity funds remained the largest segment, with AUM of Rs 39.25 lakh crore, up 18.5 per cent from Rs 33.13 lakh crore a year earlier. Hybrid funds rose 17.3 per cent to Rs 12.47 lakh crore, while fixed income funds grew 2.8 per cent to Rs 19.45 lakh crore.
