Musuuga: The man overseeing Oyo's funeral and succession rites

As Tooro Kingdom begins the solemn process of burying King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV and preparing for the next monarch, one traditional figure has assumed a central role in the cultural ceremonies: the Omujuwara Musuuga, Mr Charles Kayondo Kamurasi.
The Tooro Kingdom on Saturday evening unveiled a set of traditional protocols that will govern the funeral rites and succession process following the death of King Oyo, placing the head of the Babiito royal clan at the centre of the cultural arrangements.
