In 2026, Breguet marks 225 years since Abraham-Louis Breguet was granted the patent for the tourbillon. Dated 7 Messidor, Year IX under the French Republican calendar, the patent corresponds to 26 June 1801 and formalised one of the most revolutionary (pun intended) inventions in the history of mechanical watchmaking.
