Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K.R. Nandini announced this after inaugurating ‘Haadu Nanna Haadu’, a youth voter awareness singing competition organised by the Election Commission of India, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, the district administration and the Mandya Zilla Panchayat at Sharada Mandira in the Science Department of Mandya University.

Under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme, the initiative seeks to harness the creativity and talent of young people by encouraging them to write lyrics, compose music and sing songs highlighting the importance of voting. Music, being an effective medium, can help convey the message of voting to young people in an impactful manner, she said.
