President Yoweri Museveni has hailed 19 General officers of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) for their efforts towards building peace and security in Uganda in many ways.

In a short message on his official X account, Mr Museveni recognised the officers for promoting the ideology of patriotism and modern military technology, which strengthened the country's national economy.

‘’I congratulate the retiring Generals for the great contribution they have made to the UPDF. The Army and the NRM have been able to build peace and security in Uganda because of many factors, including our ideology of patriotism, modern military technology and the strength of our national economy.’’ Mr Museveni wrote on X after presiding over the retirement ceremony from State House, Entebbe on Thursday.
