Speaking on Sunday, August 23, 2026, during the consecration of his daughter, Patience Rwabwogo, as an episcopal bishop, the President paid tribute to both the clinical team and his family for their steadfast devotion during the First Lady's period of illness.

"First of all, I thank God for the recovery of Mama.
