Murkomen vows to end banditry in the country
Kenyan Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicating banditry in several regions, including Kerio Valley and Turkana. The government is focusing on confiscating illegal firearms and dismantling criminal networks to restore peace.

Murkomen regretted that banditry has been a threat for a long time in Kerio Valley, Pokot, Turkana, Samburu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Isiolo, as well as Laikipia, among other areas.
He underscored the government’s commitment to ensure it completely comes to an end, in a bid to ensure all Kenyans live peacefully regardless of their locality.
Murkomen was speaking at Nandi Hills Stadium while presiding over a fundraising drive to purchase a bus and construct an office block for the Nandi Hills/Tinderet Branch of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).
