Murder Trial returns with two new compelling cases featuring in the acclaimed documentary series

The acclaimed documentary series 'Murder Trial' is returning to the BBC with two new cases focusing on the Scottish justice system. Additionally, a 10-part companion podcast series has been commissioned to provide further insight into these legal proceedings.

Acclaimed and award-winning documentary series Murder Trial will return later this year focussing on two new cases – the murder of groundsman Brian Low in Aberfeldy and the landmark case following the death of Kimberly Bruce from Dundee – giving audiences a unique insight into the workings of the Scottish courts and justice system. As well as these cases for BBC Scotland, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, a new 10-part podcast series, Inside The Murder Trial has been commissioned. Murder Trial is a co-commission between BBC Scotland and BBC Factual while Inside The Murder Trial is a BBC Scotland and BBC Sounds co-commission. Both series are produced by Firecrest Films.
