An investigation into the disappearance of 43-year-old Mark Duffy, who was last seen on 3 October 2022 in Navan, has been upgraded to a murder investigation.

In the weeks before his disappearance, Mr Duffy had been homeless and living in a tent in Navan town.

On the day he was last seen, he was at the Post Office at the Johnstown Shopping Centre in Navan at 10.50am.

He was later seen at about 2.45pm on CCTV on the Commons Road, walking into McDermotts Villas Housing Estate.

This was the last confirmed sighting of him.

He was later reported missing 10 days later by a family member who was concerned that she had not heard from him.

Garda investigations established that there had been no sightings of Mr Duffy since 3 October, that his phone had not been used and he had not left the country.
