Murder accused booked under Goondas Act in Dindigul

A 23-year-old murder suspect in Dindigul district has been detained under the Goondas Act following a recommendation by the local Superintendent of Police. The suspect was previously arrested for the murder of a youth in Kodaikanal.

Ragu alias Ragavendra, 23, of Prabha Nagar at Poomparai in Dindigul district was detained under the Goondas Act on Saturday.
Police said that following the murder of a SC youth, Ramar, 25, in Kodaikanal a few days ago, Ragu was arrested and sent to judicial custody in Dindigul district jail on murder charges. Based on the recommendation of SP Jeyakumar, Collector Durga Moorthy ordered the detention of the accused under the Goondas Act. Ragu was taken to Madurai Central Prisons amid tight security, a release said.
