With just one day to go until the new BKT United Rugby Championship season kicks off, we are doing a province-by-province breakdown over the next few days to remind you how each of the four Irish sides fared in 2025/26, and what to expect from them this season.

Next up on our tour of the provinces is Munster, who will be hoping season two under Clayton McMillan is a little more straightforward than season one.

It's rarely dull down at Thomond Park, but the 2025/26 one was a constant rollercoaster, both on and off the pitch.

When Clayton McMillan came in last summer, his stated aim for getting Munster back on track was for them to find their middle ground more often, rather than playing either to their ceiling or floor on a weekly basis.
