The Mumbai police on Saturday (September 5, 2026) released a preventive order prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons for the period commencing on September 9 and ending on September 23 in Mumbai.
The order was issued based on the information received from various sources that there is a likelihood of breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquillity and a grave danger to human lives and loss of properties.
“...it is considered expedient to issue a prohibitory order for restricting movement and unlawful assembly of five or more persons for the prevention of breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquillity and danger to human lives and loss of properties and to prevent any kind of riot or affray in the areas under the control of Commissioner of Police, Brihanmumbai,” the order statement read.
