The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is launching feeder bus services to connect Chennai Metro Rail’s Phase II stations between Poonamallee and Vadapalani. This initiative aims to improve last-mile connectivity for commuters by integrating bus and train travel.
Why it matters
Improved public transit integration reduces reliance on private vehicles and enhances urban mobility in rapidly growing metropolitan areas.
In a bid to provide last-mile connectivity to commuters, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will operate services from bus stops near the Chennai Metro Rail’s Phase II stations along the stretch from Poonamallee Bypass to Vadapalani from Sunday (October 11, 2026).
