MTC bus overturns in Sholinganallur, commuters sustain injuries

Several commuters onboard a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus escaped with minor injuries after the vehicle overturned on the Sholinganallur Main Road on Sunday.
The Pallikaranai Traffic Investigation police registered a case, and are probing the incident.
A senior officer of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said the bus from Tambaram West to Adyar (route no. 99) had more than 20 passengers onboard, and was proceeding on the Sholinganallur Main Road via Perumbakkam when the incident occurred.
As the bus neared a small stretch, designated as a one-way road, where Metro Rail work was under way, a speeding lorry approached it from the opposite direction.
