MTC bus fatally knocks down woman near Choolai

A 70-year-old woman was killed after being knocked by a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus near Choolai. A senior official of the city traffic police said Savithri lived on the platform near Kannappar Thidal of Periamet, and made a living by selling fruits on Demellows Road. When Savithri was crossing Demellows Road near the Choolai roundabout on Thursday evening, an MTC bus hit her. Savithri was killed on the spot.
