Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital (MSSH), Madurai, has achieved a major milestone in advanced coronary care, having completed nearly 100 coronary procedures using the hospital’s integrated Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) imaging technology.
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the hospital has taken a pioneering lead in bringing this advanced dual-modality intravascular imaging technology to the region, strengthening its capabilities in the diagnosis, characterisation and treatment of complex coronary artery disease.
The introduction of the NIRS–IVUS platform represents the next step in this continuing evolution. With nearly 100 procedures already completed, the hospital is building a substantial clinical experience with the technology and integrating it into the management of patients undergoing complex coronary interventions.
