MRC commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas in Coonoor
The Madras Regimental Centre in Coonoor held a commemorative event to mark the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The ceremony honored soldiers who died during the 1999 Kargil War.

The Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington, Coonoor commemorated the 27 th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War.
Brigadier Krishnendu Das, Commandant, MRC, led the Wreath-Laying Ceremony and Memorial Parade at the War Memorial.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant recalled the courage, unwavering resolve and indomitable spirit displayed by the bravehearts of Operation Vijay, who overcame formidable odds, treacherous terrain, extreme weather and a determined enemy occupying dominating heights to restore the sanctity of India’s territorial integrity, a press release from the MRC said.
