The MedTech Quality and Communications Institute (MQCI) — an initiative at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam — has certified 100 Lead Auditors for the MedTech sector in collaboration with certified bodies.

Regulatory compliance is essential for medical device manufacturing, covering the systems required to maintain consistent quality. While regulatory frameworks provide the necessary baseline, their effective implementation depends on professionals who can assess quality systems, identify gaps, and support continual improvement. MQCI’s Lead Auditor programme is designed to strengthen this capability by training individuals in quality management system auditing and compliance assessment.

Translating regulatory requirements into consistent operational practices relies heavily on building a specialised pool of trained professionals.
