Motorola expands the reach of its Qira AI with the Android 17 update
Motorola is expanding the availability of its Qira AI assistant to more smartphone models, including the Razr and Edge series, via the Android 17 update. The assistant provides cross-device functionality between Motorola and Lenovo products, including summarization and content creation.

This reflects the ongoing trend of hardware manufacturers integrating proprietary AI assistants directly into mobile operating systems to enhance user ecosystem lock-in.
Motorola (and parent company Lenovo) announced Qira, their shared personal AI assistant, at CES. While Qira has been available on some Lenovo devices for a while, it's only now finally starting to make its way to more Motorola smartphones, following its initial introduction on the Edge 70 Max .
It will be arriving on more handsets with the Android 17 update, the company has confirmed today. Qira will only be rolling out to phones in the Signature, Razr, and Edge series.
