Motorists advised to avoid parts of central Singapore over risk of flash floods
Singapore's national water agency issued flash flood alerts for several central areas following heavy rainfall on September 11. Motorists were advised to avoid specific roads as the Meteorological Service forecasted continued thundery showers.

Listen SINGAPORE – The mercury dipped to a low of 22.4 deg C in central Singapore on Sept 11, amid heavy rain in parts of the island.
According to the Meteorological Service Singapore’s website, the temperature was recorded at 3.51pm in Scotts Road, which saw 103mm of rain.
National water agency PUB also issued alerts for risk of flash floods in central Singapore in the afternoon.
In a post on social media platform X just before 3pm, PUB advised members of the public to avoid Thomson Road (Balestier Road to Novena Rise) for the next hour.
Shortly after, it posted similar alerts for the junction of Stevens Road and Balmoral Road, as well as Mackenzie Road (near Bukit Timah Road).
