A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Scarborough late Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened in the Eglinton East neighbourhood, near Eglinton Avenue East and McCowan Road.

Toronto police say they were called to that area at around 5:50 p.m. for reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

Insp. Dan Pravica later said officers from 43 Division arrived at the scene and located a male motorcyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported by paramedics to a local trauma unit, the duty senior officer said, where he died a short time later.
