More women candidates are expected to contest the upcoming local body polls, as several prominent leaders who have dominated district politics for the last three decades have decided to pass on the baton to women in their families.
YSRCP senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana and TDP leader Majji Srinivasa Rao, who is also the Zilla Parishad chairman, announced that their daughters will be in the fray for the Municipal and Parishad elections, while JSP senior leader Avanapu Vikram’s wife is keen to contest the ensuing polls.
