More Estonian reinforcements arrive to help along Latvia's eastern border
Estonia has deployed a new rotation of police and border guard personnel to Latvia to assist in patrolling the border with Belarus. The mission aims to curb illegal migration and prevent the establishment of permanent smuggling routes into the European Union.

The new ESTPOL11 rotation replaced the team who have been working in Latvia for the last two weeks. The Estonian Police and Border Guard (PPA) will "support Latvia in preventing illegal migration and protecting the external borders of the European Union. Over the coming weeks, an 11-member Estonian team will participate in border patrols in areas where migratory pressure is highest," the PPA said.
