Months after OSM row, government appoints new CBSE chairperson

NEW DELHI: Senior bureaucrat Mandeep K Bhandari was appointed CBSE chairperson, months after the rollout of On-Screen Marking (OSM)-based evaluation and post-result processes triggered complaints over alleged answer-sheet mix-ups, portal glitches, payment failures and delays in re-evaluation.Bhandari, a 2001-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, is currently principal secretary to J&K lieutenant governor. The appointments committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment, personnel department said.
