Monsoon intensifies, orange alert for three districts in Kerala on July 30, 2026

The southwest monsoon is likely to revive across Kerala after a brief hiatus with the revival of active monsoon conditions. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Kannur, Wayanad and Kozhikode districts on Thursday (July 30, 2026) warning of intense heavy rainfall.
A yellow alert has been issued for the other districts in the State, except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha, where isolated heavy rain is expected. According to a weather bulletin issued by the IMD, the monsoon conditions have strengthened under the influence of a deep depression over the central parts of Chhattisgarh and adjoining north interior Odisha.
