In response to the onset of the northeast monsoon, the Madurai district administration has ramped up extensive public health and disease prevention measures to curb the spread of dengue and other seasonal illnesses.
Collector Nishant Krishna announced that special medical camps are now operating at 100 locations daily across the district, including government primary health centres, to provide immediate screening and treatment for monsoon-related ailments such as malaria, dengue, cholera, and viral fevers. These camps will remain functional through December 30.
To ensure healthcare access reaches all corners of the district, the administration has deployed 14 mobile medical teams covering 42 locations daily.
