Mombasa man surrenders to police after wife, child found dead

Police in Mombasa are investigating a suspected family killing in Nyali where a man allegedly killed his wife and their young child following reported family conflicts.

The incident occurred on Friday, September 25, 2026, police said.

The suspect allegedly attacked his family, killing his wife and one of their children.

Police were informed that after the alleged killings, the man placed the child’s body inside a pit latrine.

He reportedly attempted to dispose of his wife’s body in the same pit but was unable to do so because of its weight.

A 14-year-old child, a Grade 9 student, reportedly escaped from the scene despite sustaining injuries during the incident.

A Good Samaritan came to the injured boy’s aid and rushed him to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.
