Modernised Thalli Bidda express vehicles to be launched on August 11

The Andhra Pradesh government is launching a modernized fleet of 102 'Thalli Bidda Express' vehicles to provide safe transportation for pregnant women and new mothers. The service includes advanced safety features and will be available for free to those delivering at government hospitals.

Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav will launch a new fleet of 102 Thalli Bidda Express vehicles at Narasaraopet on August 11.
According to a press release issued by the Health Department on Monday, the modernised vehicles have been designed to ensure safer and more convenient transportation for pregnant women and mothers.
The State government is procuring 500 vehicles. In the first phase, 300 vehicles will be introduced, with the remaining 200 to be rolled out later.
The vehicles will be equipped with air-conditioning, six airbags, rear seat belts, child-lock sliding doors, GPS tracking, SOS buttons and other safety features. They will also have charging ports and first-aid kits, besides carrying health-awareness messages on breastfeeding, newborn care, nutrition and vaccinations.
