Moderate heavy rain continues in Kerala; CM to chair emergency meeting

Although the intensity of the rain has subsided considerably, moderate heavy rain continues to affect the State , disrupting normal pace of life in areas that witnessed torrential downpours over the past two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for the entire State on Monday (August 3, 2026), warning of isolated heavy rainfall.
The IMD has also issued a warning for several districts in south and central Kerala, forecasting heavy rain accompanied by strong surface winds of up to 40 kmph from Sunday (August 2, 2026) midnight to Monday (August 3, 2026) morning.
Meanwhile, a flash flood warning has been issued for Pathanamthitta, where intense rainfall was recorded over the past couple of days. The warning has been issued for people living along the banks of rivers, especially the Pamba River.
