Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday (September 26, 2026) announced a joint public march with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai on October 4, staging protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Mr. Thackeray said, “We will jointly organise the protest but it would be a public movement aimed at raising concerns over the electoral roll revision process.”
He called the Election Commission of India (ECI) a wing of the BJP and targeted ECI chief Gyanesh Kumar, saying, “He was heading ECI as part of BJP and under the name of SIR has done fraud with citizens of India.”
