The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Thursday (October 1, 2026) launched “e-Punarvasan”, a Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) system designed to verify the identities of project-affected families through Aadhaar and prevent ineligible beneficiaries from receiving homes.

The rehabilitation process for 94 eligible slum dwellers from Bandra’s Garib Nagar has begun, and they received possession letters on Thursday (October 1, 2026).

The Computerised Tenement Allotment Cell will digitally manage available tenements, allotment, and possession processes, while making the tracking of rehabilitation cases easier.

“Through ‘e-Punarvasan’, the human intervention can be reduced and further strengthening transparency. MMRDA is creating a more robust system for citizen-centric rehabilitation,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
