MLA seeks CBI probe into KPSC ‘scam’

MLA for Mangaluru City North Y. Bharat Shetty on Wednesday sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of 400 veterinary officers by the Karnataka State Public Service Commission (KPSC).
Addressing press persons here, the MLA said there are allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process, including OMR answer sheet tampering, nepotism, leak of question paper and candidates’ confidential information, and the involvement of middlemen who allegedly promised jobs in exchange for money.
The CBI probe should also cover alleged favouritism shown by suspended KPSC chairman Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar to his family members in the recruitment process for government employment.
Mr. Shetty said that the CBI should also probe alleged irregularities in the examination conducted by the KPSC for the recruitment of Class B Assistant Directors of Land Records.
