Missing youth found dead in Belagavi district

A 27-year-old youth from Belagavi, who had been missing for five days, was found dead near Nandgad Danti in Khanapur taluk of Belagavi district.

The deceased has been identified as Sarvesh Kangralakar, a resident of Marutigalli on the Sambra Road in Belagavi.

According to his family, Sarvesh had left home on September 20 evening saying that he was going to partake in the public celebration of the Ganesha festival. He did not return home subsequently, following which his parents lodged a missing-person complaint at the Malamaruti police station.

Meanwhile, information was received about an alleged incident on Mandoli Road in which a youth was assaulted and taken away in a car. Taking the matter seriously, Belagavi City Police Commissioner Prakash Nikam formed two teams to trace Sarvesh.

While the police were searching for him, his body was found near Nandgad Danti in Khanapur taluk on Friday (September 25).
