NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Monday issued a “fact check” amid the controversy over reported changes to Form 6, calling Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s claim that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had “changed Form 6 illegally and unilaterally” misleading.In its response, the EC said the order for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, issued on June 24, 2025, had received the unanimous approval of the Commission and was subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court in its judgment dated May 27, 2026.The poll panel also cited its Press Note No.
