Ministry extends migration of health facilities to HMIS by one month

The Kenyan Ministry of Health has extended the deadline for health facilities to migrate to the Health Management Information System (HMIS) by one month to October 30. While most public facilities have transitioned, the extension provides necessary time for remaining facilities to receive technical support.

In a statement on Thursday, Health CS Aden Duale said facilities that are yet to comply have been given until October 30 to complete the process.
He said the transition had made significant progress across public, faith-based and private facilities, but some facilities still required additional time and technical support to complete the migration.
Duale assured patients that services will continue at facilities that have not completed the transition.
“No patient will be denied access to healthcare services because a facility has not yet fully transitioned to HMIS,” Duale said.
He said all 6,427 public Level 2-4 health facilities have completed the transition.
