Ministers hold talk with farmers

Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment S. Ramesh, Minister for Cooperatives V. Gandhiraj, Minister for Agriculture R. Vinod and Deputy Speaker M. Ravishankar on Tuesday held talks with leaders of farmers organisations, which had called for a protest demanding total waiver of crop loans.
Registrar of Cooperatives G. Latha, Collector Pratik Tayal, Director of Agriculture K.V. Muralidharan and senior officials also participated in the meeting held at the Collector Office. The Ministers gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the farmers representatives.
The farmers insisted that the State government waive the crop loan fully without any conditions.
The Ministers explained the pro-active steps of the State government in protecting the livelihood of farmers on all aspects. They told them that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had been working to uplift the farmers and the downtrodden.
