Ministers hears tribals concerns on Fifth Schedule
Ministers in Andhra Pradesh held a meeting with tribal leaders to discuss the implementation of the Fifth Schedule and land transfer regulations. A high-level committee will be formed to review these concerns and provide a report to the government.

Home Minister V Anitha and Minister for Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani held an interactive meeting with tribal association leaders, legal experts, public representatives and members of the tribal community at Paderu in ASR district on Tuesday.
During the interaction, representatives of various tribal organisations presented their views, concerns and suggestions regarding the implementation of the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution of India, G.O. Ms. No. 3, and the AP Scheduled Areas Land Transfer Regulation, 1959 (Regulation I of 1970).
Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Sandhya Rani said that the government and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, are firmly committed to safeguarding the rights of tribal people. She further added that after detailed consultations with legal experts and careful examination of all constitutional and legal aspects, the government would take a decision that is in the best interests of the tribal community.
