Minister inspects road works

Tourism Minister S. Rajesh Kumar inspected road upgrade works in the Kanniyakumari district. The project aims to convert a single-lane road into an intermediate-width road to improve local connectivity.

Minister for Tourism S. Rajesh Kumar on Sunday inspected the ongoing road works at Mangaadu and Munsirai in Kanniyakumari district.
He was accompanied by Collector M. Prathap.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar said the single lane between Mangaadu and Munsirai had been upgraded to ‘intermediate’ road with decent width at a cost of ₹5.80 crore. With 30% of the 7.2-km-long road completed, the contractor had been asked to expedite the work without compromising on quality.
Divisional Executive Engineer, State Highways, Sathyamurthy was present during the inspection.
